My name is Kimberly Fischer. I teach 6th grade reading, 6th grade writing, and 8th grade social studies at Sully Buttes Middle School. I earned my Master of Science in Education degree in Educational Technology from Dakota State University. I graduated from South Dakota State University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Science. My degree is in Early Childhood Education, and, through a cooperative with Dakota State University, Elementary Education.
At South Dakota State University, I was involved in professional organizations. I served as the Vice President of the SDSU Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC) Student Group. This groups works with the East Central AEYC group to plan events for educators in our area and provide professional development events for students with education majors at SDSU. I have been a team captain and a dancer for State-A-Thon, which raises money for Children's Miracle Network and hosts a dance marathon for miracle children and their families. I have also been a member and executive team member of Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority focusing on leadership, personal/professional development, service, scholarship, and promoting the field of agriculture.
I grew up in the small town of Castlewood, South Dakota with my parents, twin sister, younger brother, and younger sister. I attended Castlewood School from preschool to senior year. I was active in track and field, cheerleading, 4-H, National Honor Society, yearbook, and TEAMS (science and engineering competition). I graduated from Castlewood High School in 2015.
